Flights to San Francisco

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is an international airport 13 miles (21 km) south of downtown San Francisco, California. SFO offers nonstop flights to over 130 international and domestic destinations with more than 50 airlines flying in and out regularly. 

International Visitors

Visas: Most travelers do not require a visa to enter the USA, learn more here. However, all travelers are required to submit an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) application before traveling. 

Currency: United States dollar ($USD). Credit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are easy to find. You are also expected to tip service staff around 15-20% in most instances.

Language: English.  

Health: Don’t forget to buy comprehensive travel insurance before you depart for the USA, as emergency medical treatment can be expensive. 

In an Emergency: Dial 911 for police, fire, & ambulance. 

Power Sockets: Type A and B. Pack an adapter/voltage converter if you are traveling from Europe, Australia, or elsewhere. 

Both Lyft and Uber operate in San Francisco and a good way to get around the city due to ease and affordability. Taxi services are available as well and you can find their contact information here. San Francisco also has incredible public transportation including an extensive Muni Bus system that can get you anywhere you need to go.

NBA All-Star Weekend 2025

Location

San Francisco will host NBA All-Star for the first time since 2000. The Golden State Warriors’ home arena, Chase Center, will host the Castrol NBA Rising Stars game on Feb. 14, the State Farm NBA All-Star Saturday Night featuring the Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest on Feb. 15 and the 74th NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 16.

Game Format

The 74th NBA All-Star Game will feature the classic return between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. The traditional scoring system, featuring four 12-minute quarters will also be back, bringing the timeless essence of the game to the forefront.

Team captains for the NBA All-Star Game will continue to be named to lead their respective teams. The honor of captaincy goes to the NBA All-Star Starter from each conference who secures the highest fan votes during NBA All-Star Voting.
