Harry Reid International Airport (McCarran) (LAS) is situated about five miles south of Downtown Las Vegas, boasting over 30 airlines for domestic and international travel. The terminals feature assorted slot machines in true Las Vegas style.

International Visitors

  • Visas: Most travelers do not require a visa to enter the USA, learn more here. However, all travelers must submit an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) application before travel
  • Currency: United States dollar ($USD). Credit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are easy to find. Tipping service staff is expected to be around 15-20% in most restaurants.
  • Language: English.
  • Health: Don’t forget to buy comprehensive travel insurance before you depart for the USA, as emergency medical treatment can be very expensive.
  • Time Zone: PST (Pacific Time Zone) UTC –8.
  • In an Emergency: Dial 911 for police, fire & ambulance.
  • Power Sockets: Type A and B. Pack an adapter/voltage converter if you are traveling from Europe, Australia, or elsewhere.
  • Weather: The NBA Summer League will take place in July with an average high of 104°F and a low of 80°F.
  • Transportation: While both Uber and Lyft operate in Las Vegas, taxis are still the most reliable form of transportation. However, you cannot hail a taxi on the street in Las Vegas - taxis are required to pick up passengers at a physical address, such as a hotel taxi line. The Las Vegas Monorail can take you from one end of The Strip to the other in just 15 minutes. The 3.9-mile elevated system along the Las Vegas Strip will continue to operate trains that arrive every four to eight minutes at each of the seven stations.
